Santa Monica Parks and Parties

Sorry for those of you that stopped by last week. The blog took the week off to travel to Cincinnati for Thanksgiving. We'll have more details on that later this week, but before we get to that we'd be remiss if we didn't share some of the pictures from two weeks ago.

We began the week by getting psyched for the start of the Hoya basketball season when Georgetown tipped off against Jacksonville on Monday.

Midweek Laura began preparing to go back to work. Her midday meeting at Activision in Santa Monica turned into an early lunch for Bill and Carson at Clover Park. Between the adjacent airport, the elderly women playing some very non-competitive soccer, swings, slides and the kiddie tower (which you can see in the background here) there was more than enough to entertain us for an hour. Once Laura begins her consulting project in December it's sure to be the host to more than a few lunch hours.

We also continued to expand our pallet last week. In a very necessary move we added prunes...

As well as the slightly less well received peas. Here Laura tries to hide her glee that Carson doesn't seem that into peas. Unfortunately for her, he just didn't happen to be hungry that day. The next day he scarfed down peas like he has with all of the rest of his foods, making it likely that the Jordan boys will outnumber Laura and demand peas be served more often.

The week ended with a trip to Miles Allen's 2nd birthday party at the carousel on the Santa Monica pier.

Although Carson didn't quite get his money's worth out of the all you could ride pass, he did seem to enjoy his one ride on the carousel.

Of course the birthday boy enjoyed himself quite a bit. Here Miles very subtly snacks on dobs of icing from the corner of the cake. Miles' blog is linked above. Perhaps this event will be momentous enough for Peter to consider making the first real update in the past six months.

Post party (and post-nap) Carson was a pretty happy boy. Here it's a contest to see who has the biggest smile: Bill, Carson or Lobster-man.

Coming later this week, Thanksgiving pics from the trip to the 'nati.
