Independence from Shirts, Shorts & Bedtimes

What better place to celebrate our nation than on the very edge of it?

Bill took an independence from shirts the one place Ging-Ging would say is appropriate for a man of his age.

Even though the motorcycle cops had just come by in Westchester 4th of July parade there still managed to be bums lining the streets.

After five years of fireworks displays in our neighborhood we finally decided to take on in from a location outside of our condo.

That wasn't the only first for a fourth of July fireworks.  Although you can debate whether he stayed up for the 2008 fireworks, there was no doubt he got to enjoy these.

It Must Be Summer

With Summer in full swing I've been very lax in updating the blog, and for that I apologize.  We've had a lot of excitement the last few weeks, so even though the hard core blog fans have already seen many of these pictures it's probably worth a recap.

Carson did his best to plug the leaks at the Annenberg Beach House splash park.

The pj's may say that they heart Dad, but trains and superheroes are also fairly well liked.

Summer began potty training in June, and some ice cream celebrated a first major success (although I guess it was really success #2).

The kids have really started to take after Laura in the kitchen.

Although Laura is slightly more reserved when it comes to licking beaters.

Of course we've gotten in some summertime activities of our own.  Carson is always excited to visit the beach.

Summer and Laura enjoyed the opening of Stephanie's pool...

and the Marina Del Rey boat taxi is again open for the season.

Despite reports of how difficult the labor market is for the younger demographic, Carson seems to be managing.

As you can see on the left, Summer has been alive over 700 days, Carson hits 1,500 next week, and Bill passed 12,784 in June.  Cake season took a break from dessert to make him a birthday coffee cake.

Our retro Summer will continue in July, with a trip back to Laura's childhood vacation stomping grounds in Canada.  With any luck we'll have another blog post well before then.
