Memorial Day Weekend

You can admit it, you've been dying to know what the California Jordans were up to for Memorial Day weekend.  Well, wait no longer, because I've got roughly 8 still images to show you that somewhat capture the experience.

Our activities really ran the gamut this weekend.  With temperatures in the 70s we spent some time at the beach.

There was some whipped cream mixing that quite impressed summer.

Who wants pizza!

We capped off the weekend with a trip to the Marina for ice cream.

With all that eating we needed a way to stay in shape, and with this contraption strapped to the back of your bike even a pebble feels like Alpe d'Huez.

Fortunately the long weekend allowed us to fit in all of the above and still have time to stop and smell the flowers.

Family togetherness should continue through next weekend with the arrival of visitors from the midwest, birthdays and concerts.

Happiest Place on Earth

Uncle Deloitte was kind enough to have us down to Disneyland for the weekend, as Laura wrapped up a daylong Friday meeting with some free tickets for the family.

Of course in the version of this photo taken by the Disney photographer Carson looks a lot less drugged.  Still, the blog has so far been unwilling to chip in the $15 to download that one, so instead just know he was high on life in this picture.

Summer wasn't under the influence during her time on the carousel.  As you can see, she takes her riding seriously.

I am fairly convinced that the characters in the Chip and Dale costumes take great pride in telling parents that they've picked the wrong chipmunk whenever they try and identify them for their children.  In three visits to the character breakfast I've gotten them wrong every time.

Carson has no such issues identifying Disney characters.  Even if he doesn't know them (as was the case with Eeyore) he certainly doesn't let them know that.

Summer was a bit more particular, only getting close to Minnie and Mickey.  As you can see here, there were even times when that was in doubt.

The Baileys made the treck down from Santa Barbara to join us for this Disney trip.  Carson as usual was impressed with Uncle Jeff's height.

Back home in Playa, we celebrated Mother's Day with a french toast breakfast and presents.

We capped off the weekend with some time around the watertable on the roof deck, where a certain evil mastermind had finally captured some super heroes away from her brother.

Jumping back a weekend, we avoided an open house by spending some time at Traveltown in Griffiths Park.

The trains had us all smiles, at least until the house didn't sell and the children didn't nap.

The Subway to the Sea Only Has Nine More Miles to Go!

We took an inaugural ride on LA's new Expo line this weekend to the California Science Center.  Some of us were more enthusiastic transit riders than others.

Summer took time to stop and smell the roses in the rose garden once we arrived.

Nicole Lloyd was in town for work from Austin and got to enjoy her first reading of a Pigeon book.
