You Can't Always Get the Blog You Want

The sun has definitely been shining the last couple of weeks in Southern California, causing Summer to do her best Bono impression at the Playa Vista concert this past weekend. After a one week hiatus due to Laura's love of the family picture at the top of the blog we're back with a new set of pics.


The third weekend of August was jam packed with activities. We took a brief boat cruise of the Marina on Saturday.


And followed it up with Culver City Montessori friend Trey's birthday on Sunday. Here Carson and fellow CCM classmate Shane have taken the high ground at the Under the Sea indoor playground.


Jumping ahead to this past weekend the schedule stayed full, with a pool party at Stephanie and Neil's on Saturday.


In between all the events Summer did find some time to play around our house.


Carson also still thinks it's Super to play with his own toys from time to time.


With all the activities time to relax at the beach can be hard to come by.


Fortunately we'd scheduled a Sunday brunch and trip to the beach with Nikhil & Aleka just for that purpose.


For anyone who was wondering, angry face definitely is still around.


We closed out last weekend with the final Summer concert at the Playa Vista band shell. Shane (and family) again joined Carson for a surprisingly competent Rolling Stones cover band. Ironically, Carson's favorite song was "You Can't Always Get What You Want".


Summer gave the band a thumbs up as well.

Name Calling, Concerts and Swinging

It's been a slow couple of weeks in photo taking, but we should have enough snaps to get something up. Here we prove we can clean up when we need to at Julia Feinblum's Hebrew naming ceremony.


Even without partaking in the mimosas, the party took more energy than Carson could bear.


Of course Summer is always ready for her close up.


One week later Julia stopped by the Playa hood for her very first swing.


Summer showed her how it was done.


As did Carson.


We wrapped up last weekend with a Playa Vista concert that Summer enjoyed despite the decibel level.

Birthdays Abbondanza

It was a full party weekend, with birthday invites on both Saturday and Sunday.


Carson eyed the cake pretty closely at Nikhil's 3rd on Saturday.


Carson celebrated Grayson's big #1 in a bounce house on Sunday.


Bill & Summer found a rare quiet moment in the bounce house that allowed for some one year old bouncing.


Not to toot our own horn, but we've really gotten the blog back on schedule. Hopefully we'll be back to our Sunday/Monday posting schedule again starting next week.
