The Real Chief

Summer has gotten big enough to stand up to the singing lion, much like her brother before her.

Maybe there is something to that theory that if you eat too many of one thing you will turn into it.

It's always a highlight when Station Officer Steele (aka The Real Chief) from Fireman Sam makes a weekend visit to read books. For those of you that have never heard of Fireman Sam, it's a slightly obscure Welsh cartoon series that Thea found on google.

As you can see, in the fake 'stache I bear a striking resemblance to a younger Station Officer Steele.

Yep, all of our dinners are like this.

Nat Burton's Not Walking Through That Door

With Carson & Chris Wright healthy again we geared up for a big Georgetown NCAA game. Guess I shouldn't have saved Summer's cuter Georgetown outfit for Sunday.

The milk and oatmeal aren't the only things that are green in this St. Patrick's day breakfast, Carson's stomach was as well. He would puke within minutes of this snap.

With Georgetown out early we were free to fill our weekend with other diversions. As Sam Wyche would say, "There are aquariums to visit..."

"and pictures to paint."

As always we ended our week with some swimming. As you can see, Summer is now jumping into her lessons with both feet.

While Carson is content to merely float by.

Kiss Us We're Irish

We were decked out in green a week early for the Hermosa Beach St. Patrick's day parade this weekend.

Pardon the zoom, as we're still figuring out videos on the new camera.

I'm not the droid your looking for.

Laura also will be writing off the trip to the parade since we took so many shots that appeared to be promotional for Kiddo.

Post parade, Bill and Summer bonded over Bill finally getting a haircut.

Laura brought out some smiles from Summer this weekend as well.

Earlier in the week Laura took some safe-for-the-blog pics thanks to a block from the scuba diver.

Summer also sunk her teeth into a teething biscuit for the first time.

And Carson took an evening spin on the scoot bike while the darkness at bedtime still lasts.

He also tackled a particularly large firepole at Hastings park.

The Life Aquatic

We gathered on Tuesday morning for our pre-preschool photo.

But first we had just a few more minutes with Ging-Ging and Pops on Sunday night.

Summer wasn't the only one that was all smiles because of that.

With a dook closing the small warm pool lessons were moved to the big pool this week.

Carson continues to make great progress with his teacher Alexis. He'll be swimming like an astronaut before the end of the month.

Now that Summer is swimming on the weekends she gets a little more hang time.

Carson was contemplative after an excellent swimming performance.

The warm weather returned for at least one weekend, and Summer was looking forward to more beach time.

Grandma and Ging Ging and Pops (oh my)!

We started last week with a vacation day trip to travel town, and a return visit from Grandma.

Carson got to unleash his inner engineer.

As well as checking out the size of some real life Thomases.

Summer was of course happy to get out of the house as well.

The next weekend it was another educational activity with different grandparents, as we headed downtown to the California Science Center.

It was all part of Ging-Ging & Pops three hour tour of the west coast. As you can see, they brought the cold and snow about as close as it gets to Playa del Rey.

It was great to have them around for the weekend, as Summer got some good bonding time with both Ging-Ging...

and Pops!
