Splish Splash

Carson & Summer finally took an internet safe bathtub shot together.

The family went out for a Saturday afternoon stroll on the Manhattan Beach pier.

We took the pictures in stages though.

We also celebrated a big Georgetown win this weekend over Villanova.

The blog was remiss in not including an updated fishface picture. You may remember the first one here.

Trust Us, We Went Outside

In a week where Los Angeles experienced balmy 70 degree temperatures at the beach we somehow only took pictures indoors. Summer, I'm just as confused as you are. That said, the warm weather continues into February, so for all you east coasters/midwesterners our guest suite is available.

Carson continued to want his picture taken before headed out to school. Guess he doesn't want us to forget what he looks like over the 3 hours he is there.

While our dreams of becoming spokespeople for Signing Time has ended, Laura still likes to cuddle up and watch a little of Rachel, Alex & Leah.

Summer in Winter

With apologies to the rest of the country, LA has had an amazing run of tropical weather conditions over the past week.

It's enough to make you feel bad for people that now have to attend school.

Though he still gets debriefed on what goes on around the house when he's gone.

Summer turned six months old this past week, and is looking long (if not lean) as the stats suggest on the upper left.

She's really starting to enjoy playing with her toys.

With temperatures in the 70s we got to enjoy our new beach towels from Uncle Ken & Aunt Emily even sooner than expected.

Although Summer wasn't content to just stay on the towel.

It wasn't just fingers in the sand either. Here Bill gives her a sense of how cold she would be if she lived most anywhere other than LA.

With the new camera we've been neglectful of capturing too many moving images. However, with the long weekend we took a few good ones. Check out the youtube page if you want to see more.

School Daze

Carson attended his very first day of preschool this week at Culver City Montessori!

Summer was pretty excited to have the place to herself for a few hours every Tuesday & Thursday.

Carson of course got to celebrate as well, and no, that is not a hostess cupcake. Aunt Beth can breathe a sigh of relief while Pops can wonder why not (or more specifically why didn't it come from the discount hostess store's week old bin).

Summer's palette expanded as well, moving onto Gwen Stefani's favorite fruit.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

The blog was all dressed up in its Christmas finery over the last two weeks.

An early candidate for favorite gift was the box that the other Cincinnati gifts came in.

If you go far enough that way I guess you make it to Kansas.

The family headed to Santa Barbara for Christmas, with a Christmas eve spin on the carousel...

Along with a family hike at 1000 steps beach. Although by my count it was only 150 steps or so.

The weather cooperated quite nicely.

Summer and I did some rock climbing.

Carson and Laura stayed closer to the ground.

I guess this is becoming a traditional picture.

Santa was really useful this year.

Summer and Grandma were excited about their presents.

We did our best to organize a family photo.

Our focus was much better when only a couple of subjects were involved.

As if the holidays weren't enough, Summer added another milestone the day after Xmas.

Now back in Los Angeles, Carson contemplated life at the Long Beach aquarium.

Meanwhile, Summer kept her legs warm during a rainy, chilly week in LA.

She also added another food to her repertoire.

Despite the photographic evidence here, Laura was the one cooking up Summer's meals.

Even with only two foods under her onesie, Summer is starting to take up a lot more shoulder space than she used to.
