In Between Relatives

After another week without visitors, the production department finally fell off their record pace, and the total pictures dropped under 50 for the first time since Summer was born.

That's not to say there weren't activities. Carson met up with his babygroup friend (and recent older sister) Dylan at the park.

We also headed out to the El Segundo Car Show this weekend.

Sadly, none of the cars were offering the ability to drive, but it was still fun to check them out.

Sunday we moved further down the beach in the Southbay, visiting the Manhattan Beach tot lot playground (aka, the island of misfit ride-on toys).

Finally, I would remiss if I didn't share this video from Uncle Ken's visit last week. Our high five process has lengthened considerably since Ken was in town.

Uncle Ken!

Uncle Ken made the trip out west to visit his newest niece this week.

He was pretty wide-eyed at dealing with a newborn.

And the visitors just keep on coming. Cooper (son of Kristi Sue and Dan Forman) and Carson sat down to break bread (or mac & cheese) last week.

Of course we got a group picture as well. Cooper is in the midst of pulling the equivalent to an all nighter here, staying up way past his East coast beadtime.

Friday Carson got ready for the Bengals/Eagles preseason game the way T.O. recommends, by making popcorn.

Carson got in a few laps at Aunt Colleen and Scott's pool over the weekend.

He also showed off some of his diving skills.

After all his hard work Uncle Ken got to unwind a little at the ball game, where the Reds won their first series in LA in over 5 years.

Despite the fact that Summer would poop all over him only moments later, Ken manages to have a smile on his face as his time in LA came to a close.

Alone Again... Naturally

Things were busy with Bill out of town and Laura on her own (with a good assist from Aunt Colleen) for much of the past week. Let's dive right in and look at a few pics.

Some of us were head over heels to have a full week to ourselves.

Carson always takes time out from his busy schedule of playing in the hallway to check in on his little sister.

That's not the only time he looked out for Summer's needs during the past week.

Laura did her best to get Summer to pose for a photo session (many more of which can be seen over at shutterfly).

She couldn't quite pull out a smile in this recreation of a classic.

Some things continued as normal this week, including a new sport for Carson to dominate at sports camp.

Finally this past weekend, Kerry Kline and daughter Isabell stopped in on vacation from the bay area to say hi.

More Ging-Ging & Pops

We were lucky enough to get another week with Ging-Ging and Pops on the west coast.

The were hardly our only visitors. Nicole Lloyd stopped by to meet Carson & Summer before permanently moving to the ATL.

Aaron & Alicia also stopped up from Manhattan Beach to pay a visit to Summer.

Of course Carson had a blast with Pops around.

He could barely sit still otherwise.

Summer measured in at 21.25", so she's meeting the bjorn minimum. As an aside, it's odd that my tennis loving parents continue to refer to this garment as a Baby Born.

We finished the week with a reading of the Little Engine That Could. I THINK I CAN't wait to see this foursome together again at Thanksgiving!

Putting Out Fires

We got to spend a few more days with Grandma and Grampa this past week.

Carson seems less than pleased with his new riding companion here. We'll see how things work out once Bill is behind the wheel and we up the speed in a couple of months.

Carson continued his tee-ball learnings at sports camp.

He wasn't the only one getting in some exercise this week. Summer began tackling tummy-time.

The local fire station put on a pancake breakfast this weekend. Carson got to put out some fires.

As well as donning some of the gear.

Summer also attended the pancake breakfast, and much like her mother spent most of the time socializing. Here she hangs with Grayson, brother of Carson's buddy Justin who was born only a few days after Summer.

Carson took in some extracurricular activity outside of sports camp, hitting the El Segundo courts with Bill and Pops.
