BAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always feel like I have big shoes to fill when I start typing up the blog every week. After all tens of people might read this.

We focused a lot of snaps on a trip to the petting zoo at the Richmond Street Fair in El Segundo this week.

This is really just the start of petting zoo season, with the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair coming up next weekend.

We learned what the sheep says this weekend, and are demonstrating loudly here. BAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

You can listen for yourself in this video.

It wouldn't be a trip to El Segundo if we didn't get to spend some time in a firetruck.

Peek-a-boos and Piggybacks

This week is apparently brought to you by the letter "P". Carson has started to say peek-a-boo when playing (or at least that's what Laura translates it to). Without the dueling cameras of Laura and Grandma there isn't as much photographic evidence, but we'll let the shot above do double duty (mouse-over pic above).

Keeping with the "P" theme he also has become a big fan of piggybacks, both with Thea during the day.

Or Bill at night.

We tried on the tux for Uncle Ken's wedding and found it to be a touch big...

And Carson continues to bicycle around the house with his good buddy Boomer. The odd expression here is owed to the fact that he is making his best VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMM noise.

Eddy & Dee's Wedding

Carson spent Saturday in El Segundo at the fireman's pancake breakfast.

With two ladder trucks, an antique truck as well as all the pancakes you could eat, we had a pretty good time.

That was all the family togetherness for Saturday, as Laura and I spent most of our weekend at wedding events for Eddy and Dee Hwang.

Laura and I were dressed up, so that deserves a picture even if Carson wasn't around.

Axl Eddy Rose!

After a long weekend away from his parents, Carson took them out for dinner at Mama D's in Manhattan Beach. Really just a clever ruse to take a trip out to the pier aquarium.

Laura and I are still debating exactly what animal this stuffed animal was supposed to represent. A manatee possibly?

More Play than Labor

Carson got a special treat for his labor day holiday, with Laura taking a mini vacation and Grandma returning from Santa Barbara to continue her west coast visit.

Carson began the extended weekend with a playdate with his friend Everett, visiting the Annenberg Community Beachhouse in Santa Monica.

It was enough to wear Carson out.

It was good he got some rest, given how much sliding...

and swinging...

and driving...

and sliding he still had to do over the weekend.

There were also firetrucks to see, both real

and for play.

Despite matching outfits there wasn't anything Carson could do to cheer Maryland past Cal. Like the Cal players last year, Carson was too tired to stay up for the primetime game, but he wore his Maryland onesie all day in support.

Carson did allow a little time to relax. Here he takes in a Signing Time with Grandma.

But it didn't take long before he was back out at the beach with Mom.

or Dad.
