Everywhere with da-da-da-da

Carson was pretty excited to start the week off with a gift from Ging-Ging: a helicopter (or as he calls it, "da-da-da-da").

The gifts kept coming when Grandma and Aunt Beth visited on the weekend.

Not to be shown up, Laura felt like she needed to procure some bubbles.

But sometimes the old gifts are the best ones. Carson still loves his monkey Boomer.

The cousins bookended the first weekend of Grandma Morris' visit. We had some laughs at Pacos on Friday night...

Okay, technically it was a lime. Still it's pretty rare to find a fruit that Carson doesn't like.

We ended the weekend with a group trip to the Santa Monica College pool.

Carson jumped at the chance to get back in the water.

The Endless Summer

In Search of the Perfect Wave (to fill my bucket).

Carson was ready for his closeup this week.

We took a trip to Santa Barbara to babysit while Uncle Jeff and Aunt Beth ran in the Santa Barbara Long Course Triathlon. As you can see, Carson was an excellent spectator.

We didn't just force him to watch people roll by on expensive bikes all morning. We also took him to the zoo where he saw (and signed) elephant.

After the big race Carson deserved a rest in the hammock just like everyone else.

Carson really has this race recovery thing sorted out, knowing that nothing tastes better post race than a nice slice of pizza.

When we returned to Los Angeles Carson was ready to get back out and hit the waves.

Because of the late hour he donned his wetsuit for the very first time.

Here he lets the ocean know that he can now brave practically any water temperature.

We don't know how Carson felt about the wetsuit, but Laura and I really liked the pictures of him in it.

How Can He Afford His Rock & Roll Lifestyle

With his Ging-Ging arriving from Cincinnati, the prospects for the weekend were so bright Carson decided he needed some shades indoors.

Carson was of course ready to party.

Ging-Ging got to participate in all of Carson's favorite activities. Eating...

and playing. Although not pictured, Carson also did his best to show off his signing skills.

He even saved a little time to read with Laura.

We capped off the weekend with a trip to dinner at Mama D's in Manhattan Beach and some walking around the pier.

Water Water Everywhere

Carson does an amazing job acting like a tired 14 month old in the above shot, which makes sense given how busy a week it was in Playa.

We took a family trip to the Mar Vista Farmers Market where Carson enjoyed some strawberry samples.

Carson does quite a good job at "reading" to himself.

Of course he still enjoys having books read to him as well.

Although he's most vocal about seeing videos of his friend "La-La" (aka Elmo).

He's getting old enough that we need to put him to work.

We weren't crying over it, but that milk spill wasn't going to clean itself.

Carson has really flipped for his water table.

Me and My Shadow

We're casting a pretty big shadow these days. Although we won't be back to the pediatrician for another month, both Laura and I think Carson has shot up a few more inches recently.

There were Lots of great pics with Laura this weekend.

Although you wouldn't know it by the pictures, Bill was around all weekend. Here his arm makes an appearance.

Although less styled in this shot, the whole family got haircuts this weekend in anticipation of our big photo shoot next weekend.

Carson loves watching Baby Signing Time, and he regularly uses 18+ signs, including: Eat, Milk, Banana, Cracker, More, Dog, Fish, Bird, Monkey, Bear, Hat / Head, Bath, Wash Hands, Car, Airplane, Bicycle, Thank You, and of course, he can sign Baby and Signing Time

Here we put one of those signs into practice, signing ball.

This shot should begin to help to balance out all the embarrassing pictures we've posted of Carson.
