Bars & Boomer

After hours and hours of basketball on TV we needed to get out of the house this weekend and check out a new park. Here Carson ponders why they used to call them cagers.

We weren't the only ones wanting to get out of the house, as Carson's friend Nikhil also needed some playground time.

In between games we also spent plenty of time playing with our friend Boomer the monkey, who has suddenly found himself as #1 seed in the Carson toy bracket, stuffed animal regional.

Cupcakes & Cousins

Now that we're moving around there's been some security put in place. Of course, since it's so difficult for Laura and I to undue it the locks are often left undone.

Hopefully this doesn't lead to him a life of crime.

In the real news of the weekend, the cousins were down to visit while their parents were hanging at the Laker game. Since Laura is such a good host we also had a slightly early celebration of Beth's birthday.

Beth's birthday wasn't the only party, Carson was also invited to his babygroup buddy Connor's first birthday.

Tell me this doesn't look like a killer party.

Back in Playa del Rey on Sunday the Bailey's played with Carson at the new "Pirate" Park. I seem to recall a significant amount of "walking" around like this with Mary Jane. It always looked tough on the back, so I'm happy to outsource.

That's all for this week.

Saturday in the Park

Alright, technically most of these pictures are from Sunday, but Chicago didn't write that song, so let's pretend shall we?

With our local Del Rey Lagoon playground still under construction, Carson, Laura and I headed over to the park at Playa Vista. Given how many units still seem to be available for sale I'm surprised we weren't first ushered into an open house.

Carson got in a little practice in case he ever needs to head across the Marina to join the Venice drum circle.

Yet another new toy! No word on whether Laura actually purchased these, or whether they came gratis thanks to her never-ending subscription to the magazine of the same name (alright, technically the subscription to Sassy has ended, but it did last for like 5 years).

Finally, Carson continues to get himself up off the ground, which gives him access to some of his favorite places in the apartment like the remote tray.

Record Highs (Temperature & Distance from the Ground)

It was another exciting week in the life of Carson.

On Friday everybody was home early enough to read a book and play some peek-a-boo. It's good to see Carson already pays about as much attention to Daddy as can be expected.

Carson has picked up all kinds of new skills. Within the past two weeks he's learned to pull himself to either sitting or standing.

That gives him a whole new world of stuff to get into. Sadly, Blackberry addiction can start far too young. "I learned it by watching YOU Dad!"

Carson also enjoyed the Hoyas taking a bite out of the Wildcats this past weekend.

It was hardly an indoor weekend. Thanks to an unseasonably warm February weekend we got to spend some time at the beach this weekend. For those of you on the east coast, yes, temps in the 80s do seem even warmer when you know there is a foot of snow for the rest of the country.
