Oscar Loves Carson

Like any good Angeleno, Carson spent last week prepping for the Oscars. While he wouldn't be attending (or even watching) this year, that didn't stop him from prepping for the big event.

One great way to make a statement on the red carpet is with a new 'do. Carson saved money on a high-end salon, and just slept on it weird.

I don't know how Oscar week works, but Grammy week usually means attending tons of meetings as all of the New York entertainment crowd migrates west for the week. Carson had his assistant Laura line up a late Friday play-date with babygroup friend Everett.

In true Oscar style this gathering allowed them to visit the gifting suite known as each other's toy boxes.

As with so many of his celebrity brethren Carson was also forced to fight off some paparazzi while just going about his business.

With the festivities behind him it was back to climbing the corporate ladder/barstool.

Happy Birthday Cousin MJ!

Carson flashes his still toothless grin above in what was a slow week for pictures.

The Baileys were down to celebrate cousin Mary Jane's 5th birthday, although a Friday trip to Disneyland was canceled due to inclement weather.

Always the perfect hostess, Laura made a heart shaped birthday cake for MJ. It went nicely with the heart shaped jello, heart shaped spanikopita, heart shaped butter, heart shaped fried eggs and heart shaped toast which were also served on Saturday.

Of course Carson loves spending time with his the Baileys.

Once things quieted down on Sunday afternoon Carson and Bill got some quality time on the tie-dyed sheets (aka living room floor).

For those of you that haven't seen it, this snap has already become Laura's profile picture. Her one woman protest against all things facebook officially ended on Saturday night.

Kit Kittredge, the youngest visitor from Santa Barbara, failed to make the trip back north after spending the afternoon buried in a pile of rags in the back of Bill's closet. Carson makes her feel right at home during her extended visit on Monday.

Come Along and Ride on a Fantastic Voyage

We ain't got no ride!

Well, in fact this week Carson's fairy pimp-father added not one but two new rides to the livery stable. The first of which, the lovely McClaren, you see above.

Come along let's take a ride.

In a long overdue move we also switched into the bigger carseat. Carson's feet had only been hanging over the edge of the old one for a few weeks.

Alright, I'm out of Coolio allusions, but there were still some other pictures worth sharing this week, so we'll press on with the blog regardless. Here Carson tosses the ball around.

He also spent some time going over figures with Mommy...

As well as inhaling a lunch of avocado and blueberries.

Here Carson turns the page (I guess this post could have been full of Bob Seger references) and Laura does some clever editing on the ending to one duck stuck.

With all these musical references of course we took time to dance. As a side note, if you want to see any of the past videos that have appeared on the blog (as well as a few others that haven't), you can always check out Carson's youtube page.

Slide, Slide, Slippity Slide.

Alright, that's the last Coolio reference I promise.*

*At least until Carson starts attending the gangster's paradise that is LA Unified in a few years.

Super Weekend with Aunt Caroline

Aunt Caroline made a surprise visit to the west coast this weekend to escape the subfreezing temperatures of Cincinnati.

While Carson warmed up to Aunt Caroline faster than he did to Pops, he wasn't about to give up a smile right away.

Try as she might, Caroline's pictures brought out the same look in Carson.

Even playing with the balls under the exersaucer couldn't get him to show off his lack of pearly whites.

Of course when Laura was taking the pics he was all smiles.

Maybe he was just showing off for Aunt Caroline, or perhaps it was the need to toughen up his rep in the neighborhood, but Carson seemed to like his hat on backwards. Either that or he couldn't reach the bill to pull it off when it was behind his head.

Is there anything better than getting in beach time less than 6 hours after experiencing temperatures in the single digits?

Carson has no clue what single digit temperatures feel like. The coldest thing he's felt recently was dipping his toes in the ocean.

Carson's friend Nikhil (and his parents) invited us over to watch the Superbowl. Carson and Nikhil got into the sporting spirit and had a little wrestling match at halftime.

Owing to the fact that Nikhil was giving up 2 months (as well as the ability to move), Carson managed to get the pin.

Carson really got caught up in the spirit of the game, and decided it was the perfect time to trot out a new skill. For those of you reading this at work, you may want to drop the volume down a notch unless you want to hear Laura being a bit too parentally proud.
